Hi have a look at Jon Rettinger's post of tech reviews. He got this spot on. Describes exactly the way some biased reviewers give bad reviews of phones (e.g. Q10 and Z10)

I've always found Technobuffalo's reviews to be excellent and unbiased.

I've always liked TechnoBuffalo. And when John mentioned the review about a certain somebody saying that you could see pixels in the screen of a phone with a high ppi, he was actually referring to a Q10 review. I forget who reviewed it but I do remember reading it. It was a flat out lie.

Yeah I figured he was talking about the Q10 review as well there was also another dodgy reviewer that mentioned that lint gets stuck on the softback of the Q10?! That dude must have really dirty and greasy pockets because I have a Q10 in my hands now and it's quite impossible!

Yup I agree. She's extremely unbiased and straightforward.

Don't think she's done a Q10 review yet though. But looking forward to it.

Agree wholeheartedly with the posters above who are praising Lisa Gade from Mobiletechreview. Sometimes, after I read or listen to the crap from CNET or Gizmodo, I try to bring myself back to sanity by watching Lisa's reviews.

John Rettinger is spot-on here. I've not watched a whole lot of his reviews, but I was glad that he prefaced his Q10 review by clarifying that these were his early impressions. Aaron Baker from phonedog is usually good and thorough, if just a little bit longwinded. The folks at Ars Tecnica generally do an awesome job too.

Regarding CNET, I wonder if the low quality of their reviews of mobile devices stems from (unethical) bias or the general lack of a collective brain. It is more likely the latter. Some of their other reviewers (e.g. Brian Cooley for cars and Lori Grunin for cameras) are excellent, while being frank about their opinions. But, the smartphone and tablet review folks are drowning in mediocrity and hipsterism.

I find Jon biased because you can tell he's a complete "Fandroid" and never wants to talk about Apple Products, and when he does he just insults them and tells the viewers, "Apple isn't innovating."
