When trying to startup a Q10 (without a sim), after you choose the language, you eventually connect to the connect to WIFI screen... So basically without a sim & without connecting to WIFI, you cannot start the phone. What if you wanted to just check phone settings, or use it as an mp3 player, etc.... Is there a workaround for this?

You need connectivity to complete initial setup.

Thanks. Do you know if you can skip that step by inserting an unactivated sim?

It needs to contact BlackBerry anti-theft, so I don't think so.

Use my Att Q10 with a inactivated sim card daily as an MP3 player daily, send emails etc. Carefully switch to activated sim when needed for phone use.
