If I have a Bold 9900 and buy a Q10 on Craigslist, get the new, smaller sim with my number on it, put it in the Q10 - will I be all set?

I mean, can I use the phone as I did my 9900, same data, minutes, hotspot/tethering, unlimited SMS, etc?

Or, does AT&T have extra cost for LTE and flag my account?

I had a little different scenario....

I bought the Q10 on an upgrade with ATT.
I also had the 9900, and for a short while the Z10.
I was never able to get LTE on the Z10.

But once the guy in the store updated the correct IMEI number and assigned a new SIM my Q10 works perfectly with LTE.
And I still have my old Blackberry Unlimited plan.

Just had to pay the $36 upgrade fee.

    Hope this helps.
Any other questions let me know.

    Nathan

I'm curious as well! There is conflicting info out there that BlackBerry os10 on the z/10 did not need the BlackBerry apn enabled on their data plans to work. So I was also under the impression that we didnt have to change data option to an option without the apn? Does anyone know about this please chime in?

I currently have unlimited data on at&t, and it carried over with no issues to my q10 upgrade. I jumped from a 3G iPhone 4s to LTE and nothing changed on my bill. I don't know about tethering though. That may or may not require an extra fee.

They have to change your plan to the LTE but it shouldn't cost you any more then usual. My plan stayed the same but they have to upgrade the plan to the LTE/4G for BB10 I believe.

Thanks for the responses. I have a corporate issued BB 9900. So, I can't mess with the plan. I can buy it and use with EAS until we update to BES10. But, I was wondering about the actual usage of the device with the LTE compatibility since that isn't currently on my plan.

I already have tethering / hot-spot as part of the plan. So, really LTE and compatibility of this device is even possible.

In my experience you should be able to add LTE without actually changing the plan. They need to update it to the LTE plan but it shouldn't change pricing.

It shouldn't; I am on Verizon and I upgraded from an iPhone 4S to the Q10. I had 3G and now I have 4G LTE and the price in data stayed the same. You pay a certain flat rate for data, and then it just boils down to how capable your phone is (i.e. 3G, 2G, 4G, 4GLTE, etc.)

For those of you with your Unlimited plans still, you are lucky. The Q10 doesn't have the data compression like the older models utilizing BIS. Suddenly, my 5 GB plan isn't sufficient. Anyway, be careful.
