I find that tapping the percentage symbol at the top right of the symbols page is tricky. Sometimes I tap just right and voila, it's there and sometimes it takes numerous attempts. This is not the case with other symbols. Any suggestions?

Hit the letter P on the physical keyboard (for Percent) instead of trying to tap the screen.

I know what you mean, when you miss the button and tap the bezel, the keyboard disappears.

Great tip, but when I hit "p" I get a p, not a %? What am I doing wrong?

Type sym key and then p.

Hit Sym, then hit P. You need to wait for about half a second, but the on-screen keyboard doesn't need to fully appear before you hit P.

BTW, this can be done for all on-screen symbols. If you hit the Sym key and look at the top corner of the on-screen keys, you'll see little grey letters. These correspond to the physical keys that will insert that symbol.
