No help, other than to suggest a new keypad. I just replaced my Q10 with a Z10 for the same reason (except E). I will fix the Q10, because I just like the keypad, but from what I read the keypad may be the Q10's weak link. I do like the Z10 though!!
Damn.
And this was touted to be BB's best keyboard ever?

Out of curiosity. Where does it say your Q10 was made (mine says Mexico)?
Wondering if there's any correlation between that and the issue that people seem to be having.

Mexico, but I doubt that is it. I don't know where the keypad is made, but that is where the weakness comes from. Or more likely, the weakness starts with BB engineering/design group. Clearly not every Q10 owner has these problems, but uncle Google says there a whole bunch! When the keypad works though, it is the best BB keypad to date, IMO.
I have this terribly annoying issue too, but it happens to almost any key I type on.
I know I should send it in for repair, but I'm concerned they'll send back a refurb.

Apparently nothing you can do about it! People have changed the keypads and the problems returned over time! Its a dead end!

I had the same problem with my z key. I sent it in for repair yesterday. How will I live sans Q10 for at least a week???

Apply cortisone cream 3 times a day, sensitivity will decrease gradually !

Contact your carrier for a warranty replacement

Mine was made in Canada and had the problem with the original keyboard. I got it fixed under warranty in late October and now have had the problem come back again about a month ago (this time different keys are acting up). With a few weeks left in the warranty, I'll take it in for a final warranty fix just before it ends unless it gets too bad to deal with before then.
It took Wind 2 weeks to get it back to me and they charge a loaner fee which sucks. A repair place I talked to said about $45 to replace a keyboard (not under warranty).

I took it to my carrier (Telstra Australia) and they sent me a brand new device.
Back to using my Q10. I ordered a keyboard from eBay and replaced it myself. Repair was a little tricky but YouTube does make most things a little easier!! I did miss the keyboard and battery life while using my Z10, but now I am sort of missing the screen real estate of the Z. O bother!!
I got my Q10 back from Rogers today, and the keyboard has been replaced.
So far, no double-type! Touch ... umm ... ya know, that glass-weave stuff ....
