The same thing has happened to me so many times now I had to share. I go to my local Starbucks, order my coffee, pull out my Q10 with the Starbucks app to pay, and the barista's expression is priceless! Is that a BLACKBERRY? Sometimes they ask if I had just taken a photo of my barcode on my Starbucks card. Other times they just look confused. Each time I explain that you can load android apps which work perfectly on BB10. This time the next customer in line pulled out her Q10 and asked me how to do it so I helped her get started.

So much fun, hopefully fixing some misperceptions about BB10! Its unfortunate that so many people aren't aware of this, even many BB10 users. Hopefully preloading Amazon app store will help with this.

Should check out the native app "MAKE" for a Starbucks app to support native developers. I used it for awhile but just stopped going to Starbucks now.

I have used both. Currently I am using the apk from Snap. Make is an ok work around but you have to keep up with your own stars and funds in your account.
I love to support native apps too. But I love the ability to get through life with limited turbulence.

You don't get the same effect for a z10.

People think it's an iPhone in a glance.

Someone loves their comfort zone far too much. That's your perogative, but shouldn't you be checking your funds manually often, in the first place??!!

I actually did use MAKE app a lot before 10.2.1 made the official one usable - and MAKE is a great native alternative. However, I like to be able to check when I have a free reward which is not possible with MAKE unless you enter manually each time you purchase something. The official app syncs your account, so allows you to check card balance, etc. However I am very grateful for the native app developers out there and would love to see more native app development.

I just downloaded make but I'm not sure if it works as the bar code on make looks different from the one on the official app here in Malaysia.

I use the native app and love it! I don't bother keeping track, starbucks emails you anyway when you have a free one. So the native one is good enough for me. I've never had a problem with it.

I've run into the same thing when I boot up instagram or netflix on my Q10. People for the most part are misinformed and that is okay. I will keep showing my BlackBerry running these apps and hope to convert as many as possible. BBFL.

I loaded MAKE and used it for about 3 days before I got tired of trying to keep track. I have an icon on my front page that automatically loads my barcode and it looks great. I've been waiting for someone to say the android app works so now I'm going to load it up and try it out

    Thanks
