The 100-1 has a LTE 1900 band which is similar to the LTE 700, LTE 800, LTE 850, LTE 900, and LTE 1800 which are all not used by Bell, Rogers, or Telus?

This then also means the 2nd "LTE" network on Rogers (which they call the 2100) is actually the UMTS 1900 network and is fact a HSPA+ network and not true LTE (per Kris' comments earlier on)?

What network do you think I'm getting on my 100-3 on the Bell network when it says "H" then? Based on our conversation thus far it seems that I should only get "H+" or nothing (since Bell doesn't support a GSM/EDGE/HSPA network).

If this is the case, than the 100-3 would not get LTE outside of Rogers and Bell's (limited) LTE 2600.

Well I know the 100-3 doesn't get LTE at all in Manitoba.

And yes the 100-1 gets real LTE, however, its all in the way they deploy the technology of the HSPA+ 1900mhz.

So if you want LTE on Rogers with a Q10 anywhere but Manitoba, your best with a SQN100-3 for top speeds.

You can get the minimum LTE with the SQN100-1 anywhere in Canada, however, due to the way its deployed in Manitoba, it acts like a 2600 network

Interesting, how long ago did you determine this? (This question is rhetorical BTW - the more important questions are below) Rogers website says there are parts in Manitoba that get both versions of their LTE network.

So what you're suggesting here is what we call LTE 1700 is actually UMTS 1900? I think perhaps I'm getting lost in a circle: Rogers 2100 isn't LTE but UMTS 1900, and LTE 1700 (Bell and Telus) isn't actually LTE but also UMTS 1900. Therefore, LTE 1700 really doesn't exist and Bell and Telus just have fancy UMTS 1900/HSPA+ networks they're calling LTE? Therefore, LTE 1700 is also an unused spectrum among Bell, Rogers, and Telus?

Or, is Rogers 2100 LTE network really LTE 1700 and not UMTS 1900? Therefore, we could conclude that Bell, Rogers, and Telus operate the following networks: LTE 1700, HSPA + UMTS 850, and HSPA + UMTS 1900. Rogers and Bell are also running/deploying a LTE 2600 network ("LTE Max").

This still leaves the question then what network my 100-3 is getting on the Bell network when it just shows "H". As above, I would expect it to be showing H+ unless the HSPA+ UTMS 850 network shows as "H" on the 100-3 and the HSPA+ UTMS 1900 shows as "H+". If that's the case then I have either a network of device problem since it should be connecting to the HSPA+ UTMS 1900 network.

The problem work this, is you can't rely on what your phone shows in lettering. What I enjoy about Android is the fact it shows you what exact network your connected to. If suggest downloading ghost commander from the app world and access the Android settings to see if it shows your cellular connection

I'm not sure where you're getting all this "what we call LTE 1700 is actually UMTS 1900? Rogers 2100 isn't LTE but UMTS 1900". As far as I can tell Rogers operates LTE on 2 frequencies: 1700 Mhz & 2600 Mhz (channel 4 & 7). 1700 is their old (original) LTE frequency and 2600 is their new addition which they have 'branded' LTE MAX. I doubt that there is anything special about 2600 Mhz other than the fact that Rogers owns it and is configuring their equipment to "allow" faster speeds exclusively on 2600 (for the time being)

I also read somewhere that Rogers owns LTE 700 Mhz, but hasn't deployed it yet

    But I'm certainly no expert.

Someone earlier in the thread said that carriers incorrectly identify the LTE 1700 network as 2100, and this certainly rings a bell (no pun intended.) There was a thread quite a while back where someone, coincidentally (or not) from Manitoba was told that Rogers was deploying an LTE network on the 2100 band, and would also be selling Z10s there. This didn't make sense, because there is no Z10 with an LTE 2100 band. Then, we found out about the mislabeling.

TL;DR: there is no LTE 2100 in deployment in Canada, certainly not on Rogers.

Good question. Maybe the H+ network around you is so congested that actual speeds are more in the H range? Does it feel like a slow connection?

I think we can agree on this summary then:
Band Bell Telus Rogers 100-1 100-3
    LTE 2600 X X X
    LTE 1700 X X X X
    HSPA+ 850 & 1900 X X X X X
    GSM/EDGE X X X

I've started a ticket with Bell so we'll see what that turns up (I don't have high hopes for anything from that). It could be that the Q10 actually only displays either 4G LTE, H, or G since on the BB Safety and Product Information Manual for the 100-3 those are the only 3 networks the phone can connect to. Which means I don't know which UTMS network I'm connecting to and the corresponding speeds I should be expecting. Somewhat frustrating.

I have an unlocked Canadian 100-1 that I would like to trade for a 100-3 as I live in France now and my carrier uses 2600.
