Hi all,
My 2 year old Q10 (SQN 100-3 10.3.2.2204) for some reason yesterday afternoon stopped All sound coming from the phone, Unless the headphones are in.
i used it yesterday lunchtime to make a call, since then it has stopped with any sound, i have tried playing music but it plays yet no sound at all, games are the same, plug in headphones or speakers and you can hear it, same with making calls.
is it just a case that the speaker has given up??
i am not worried aboutr replacing the speaker if so, this is the only berry i have had that Hasn't been opened up!

Yes, first thing i did was areset, then a couple of battery pulls!
Have set I I vibrate, just updated link to do a back up but isnt displaying as connected either now!
All this because I said yesterday that after 2 years I have had no issue's with it to a mate! Haha!

There have been issues reported about loss of sounds and notifications in the Q10 in the last software os, but yours sounds like it might be something else?

Are you using the official downloads? You could try researching the Sarchesi builds, not sure if that is the proper spelling.

Thanks guys, was about to do the bbve but went for the grocery shopping instead! ;-) will fire it up in a mo, i've been on this OS for a couple of months, no issues at all, will do bbve and see what that comes up with, odd as I used it to make a call yesterday then from that the speakers stopped!

okay guys, Result, stripped the phone down after scraping off the solder bubbles that had filled the screw heads, the 2 raised contact points for the lower mic and speaker is where the problem was! the tip of one of them had broken off and wasn't making contact with the speaker / mic, cleaned off the contact area and gently lifted up the top so it would reach, (cleaned up all the other contacts in there whilst i was at it, surprisingly little debris / dust considering 2 years of constant use!! ) screwed in the few screws needed to hold it ionplace and tested it, Noise!!! Noise is back!! One happy Timmo!! all buttoned back up and back to normal,

Plug and unplug the headphones repeatedly. Bizzarely this works for all kinds of sound problems.

i was starting to contemplate which of the old berries to get out till i fixed it! was going to be either Torch or Bold, not sure i'd cope well with bb6 now!! :-D
