    Hi all,

Setup Blackberry Link on my Mac, selected the option to reload the software on my device which was recognized and after the initial reboot the screen on the Q10 has a sim card and a blue circle under it that never goes away. It just keeps circling around and around. It never even loaded the OS at all. Currently the SIM card is removed as the phone is not active. I was having some issues with it so I wanted reload the OS.

Any ideas? I only use Mac so not sure where to go next.

The blue icon you spoke of is not a SIM card, it's a file shredder. Your phone is currently security wiped. This step can take several hours. Let it do his job.

Ah OK that makes sense. Although when I had a windows laptop and reloaded the OS it did not do this. Must be a Mac thing.

Well I have already turned off the phone several times and the same icon reappears so I'll put the battery back in and let it do its thing. I can't keep it connected to my laptop the whole time though as I need it for work too. When its done wiping will it prompt me to connect it again?

    Thanks for the replies.

Can't you connect it to the wall ? Again, it can take several hours After that the phone will boot with a clean state.

After reading my last reply I realized I had forgotten to state that I would leave it plugged in so the battery won't die. I may be a little blackberry inept, but I'm not totally lost here hahaha.

Thanks again, awaiting security wipe to complete.

Security wipe finished in about 2 hours...rebooted to a fresh OS and the "issue" I was having was cured by the wipe. Thanks for the help.
