The Q for sure. Make sure you use the phone long enough to understand how it work. Once you get that down getting to and from apps, emails and text are too easy.

Depends on your needs really. The 9900 is slower than the Q. No 4G, spinning clock, etc.

Also, if staying organized is important and you use the calendar a lot, the Q is much more functional.

    Posted via CB10
I disagree. The 9900 is much faster and more functional for everything but browsing. The OS has built in delays with just about every function in addition to the fact that the OS has 2-3 extra steps built in for just about every function. For me, the 9900's calendar was much quicker set in month mode and use for a reminder for mtgs. Contact search is hugely superior on the 9900. Editing, cutting and pasting -- also vastly superior on the 9900. Speed/shortcut productivity convenience functions...many more on the 9900, although the Q10 is trying to catch up (slowly, but someone estimated it's at 70% of the 9900). Many people return it very disappointed. For these reasons, it won best Best Communication by Crackberry's Adam Zeis. The learning curve for the Q10 is also very steep...but I think the better browsing is a huge advantage, although they could have designed a next generation 9900 that had faster browsing and retained all of the legacy advantages (I never had a problem with spinning circles)...they've even dropped push email of all things...such a shame. I've never lost so much data and so much productivity as with this device.

I don't now if you could tether thru the the 9900. That's new to me and an exciting new feature. Of course, any new advancement of the 9900 should have been able to do that. My beef with the Q10 is that it's just so misguided given what it could have been after all that time and money. It could have been an amazing killer device.

I enjoyed typing on q10 for 5 months because it has really good keyboard but then I moved to z30 because I like playing games on bigger screen. I think you can get cheaper q10 on craigslist or ebay if you are not looking for new phone.

The q10 has lots of work before it can hold a candle to how functional the 9900 is. The hub is not awesome has to many different types of windows that have different ways to get rid of them if you happen to let your thumb touch the bottom menu. Sometimes there is a backbutton and other times it's a cancel at the top. No way to add up the time wasted trying get something out of my face so I can get to what I want. Or you flick something up and try to hit the X and it opens again I love that too.

As far as pairing with playbook not even close second to the 9900.

That's is my opinion and I see the q10 is purchased and I would have done that too. It is where BlackBerry is going and they keep fixing things so hopefully it's a long fun quick ride to the top.

The 9900 does not have the hot spot feature. Even if it did it would be slow. The 9900 is not fast enough to stream any media, really, either.

The 9900 has a great keyboard, but is a little mushy for me. Typing on the Q can be faster, once you get used to it. Word prediction is amazing.

And the calender integration is much better on the Q than the 9900.

The OS needs to get a little faster, and had made progress in the last updates. But still no spinning clock or battery pulls.

Hard question to answer. Each person gets a cell phone for their needs.

I need a physical keyboard. My curve 9300 was slowing down and I needed more functions for my job that the Q10 offered. I actually got the 9900 and returned it due to a horrid battery life ( faulty perhaps?). It was an easy enough phone to use, but whatever that phones issue was, I went back to my curve.

I got the Q10 and liked it- but wasn't sold. A major glitch with hanging up calls prompted me to return it. I was back to my 9300 curve and found I missed the Q10's speed and function. Went back to get it and have been thrilled ever since

If you are looking for lots of apps, q10 may not be for you- they are limited right now. But, this OS isn't even a year old. I feel that as time goes on, that will improve.

    Defiantly the Q10

I had the Blackberry 9900 and I think the Q10 is a much better device! OS is more stable, the camera is good and the typing experience is better

I LOVE LOVE youtube and LOVe the fact that I can turn the phone off and still get audio.

Outside of pure messaging, the Q10 overall is the CLEAR winner over the dated 9900.

It's not even close. Frankly there are very few scenarios where you wouldn't be flat out foolish to buy a 2+ year old legacy device. And waterfront is right, the 9900 is TERRIBLY slow when compared to the Q10. To the point of being unusable if you actually need to get things done consistently.

Agreeing with other that the 9900 is not as good as the Q10 (I have the 9930). Specially when it comes to speed of the unit itself. There a few things I miss such as the trackpad when selecting text. Changing calling modes (silent, normal etc) without having to go into the settings. The limited amount of languages that can be loaded (I am a lingusit so I like having my options) and how spell check will use both languages. Other than that I can't think of anything else even then I can live with those. I wish I had gotten my Q10 earlier this year!

Really depends on what you primarily use your phone for. The Q10 is overall faster, spectacular camera, you can video chat, watch movies on your TV via hdmi, excellent browser, and the apps are getting better and better. HOWEVER, email is laggy, contacts management is sub par, and the new OS is still buggy even with official releases.

If you need a relaible communication and management device then the 9900 is your bet. Email is istantanious, you can manage several different contact/calandar/email accounts far more efficiently.

For those who do not know, on the Q10, you cannot enter a contact for just one account. Instead, even if you chose a certain account to add the contact to, it adds that contact to ALL account contact lists. Don't believe me? Log on to your accounts on your computer and see.

I'd get a Q10 simply because of LTE banding. LTE makes the performance that much better in all ways!

Just setup my wife with a new Q10 tonight after her 9900 bit the dust for the last time. It's pretty sweet!

Now she just has to make it through the learning curve. I never let her touch my Z10 so she's not familiar with the new OS yet. My bad I guess

Q10 is a data hog and much more expensive per month, if that's a factor...travel internationally, and it's probably 10x more expensive and likely to be a major factor if you pay your own usage bills or travel internationally frequently.

If you have to select and copy and paste a lot for your job I would say the 9900 is best, I prefer the q10 for everything besides it's selecting / copy / paste ability... it has potential to be good but it's far from there.

My data usage for my Q10 is not any more than when I was using an iphone 4s and a 9900.

Since 10.2.1055 my data usage has gone up though. Netflix
