Almost every couple days somebody ask me "please send me his/her phone number". Easy with almost any phone, but with Q10 challenge (for me). Open contact, edit it, copy phone number and past it in sms or e-mail etc.

Please, does exist easy way how to share phone mumber from contacts without editing it?

    Thanks

You mean you don't know you can long press on a contact in the Contacts app and hit Share Contact?

Or alternately you can hit the attach icon in the text message thread and choose to attach a contact. No?

I think you need to learn to use BB10 a bit more.

I'm fairly certain that's the reason the op posted the question. Not everyone knows all the little ins and outs of every smartphone OS/Software.

I'm not so stupid to not know, that I can share or attach VCF.
If you would read my question with a bit more attention, there's question how to share phone number, not whole contact. Reason - not every phone works with VCF. People with iPhones get nothing when you send them VCF attachment. Also in the contact I may have details what I don't want to share (like home phone number) when somebody ask for work phone for example.

So again, the question is, how we can copy/paste phone numbers from contacts without need to edit the contact.
I know only way to do it - call that person or more specifically just try to make phone call and hang up. Then in hub is possible to use feature "copy phone number" what I cannot find in regular contacts. But I don't know OS10 so much, you are right, so I ask, maybe is somewhere hidden menu what I don't know.

Without using an app, I'm also have no idea how to share contacts to a friend without sending the whole phone #, address, accounts # and such.
Would love to know if there's any other method we could use without using an app.

me too - which is why I use the method described by the OP

It is RARE that I want to forward ALL of the details I have of a contact - usually it is just either one of the phone numbers, or one of the email addresses (and where I have a client's home phone number or non-business email address, I certainly don't want to forward on these details)

This app doesn't get the phone number into the clipboard, like the op wanted and is needed by all of us.
The method of sending it via text and then copying it takes longer that calling the number, disconnecting, then copying the number.

In future updates a simple "COPY NUMBER" should be inserted into the contact menu when you long-press on a number, as is the case in the call log.

You can open contact within Contacts app and long press on the desired field. You then have the option to copy to then paste into a text etc.

Your signature implies that you are already using 10.3. Well, I'm glad to know that they are gonna fix this problem but while most of us are still 10.2.1 this feature doesn't exist yet and there's still no good solution.
But comforting to know we have what to look forward to.

I wonder if in the final release of 10.3 they will return all the BB07 calling features from within the contact, such as "PREPEND" and others.

Good Post. I have been SUFFERING with this. And everytime i long press on a number in contacts and release it thinking it will give me the option to copy, it calls the number instead. Extremely frustrating. I use the copy + hub copy option as well. That 10.3 screenshot was like a breeze of fresh air! Cant wait

By the way, if it's often the same contact you want to share, register it in the Smart Tags app, stripped from the info you don't want to give...
You will have the possibility to share the contact tag (NFC, QRCODE, social media, ...).

Tap phone icon (bottom left on screen), tap center icon - contacts, find contact you want to share number, tap - open, find number you want to copy, hold a bit longer and - voila - done! You can copy

I use the share contact option all the time with iPhone users. Seems to work fine. I see that's not exactly what you are looking to do - just commenting on this part of your response.
And yes, at least in the 10.3 I am running, you can long-press on a phone # in your contacts and copy it. :-)

I can confirm the long press and copy in contacts works on 10.2, but only if you access the contacts via the phone app, not the contacts app directly.

Thanx! Never noticed that, but strange that it should only be a feature in the contacts-via-phone not in the reg contacts app. But good to know that 10.3 will have it
