Did you use a case ? (I guess you've already test it on another Wi-Fi without casing ?)

No. I don't use a case. I can't get wi-fi unless I hold the unit to around 2-feet of the router antenna. It doesn't even see the router until then. Same outside my home. My wife has a Samsung and she can use wifi everywhere she goes, while I don't even see the sites on my Blackberry 10. It must be the antenna.

    Weird, but possible.
Go to Settings > Networks and Connection > Wi-Fi
Then click on the Advanced icon (the 2 lines with round cursors on it) and display the Diagnostic Information for your Wi-Fi (must be connected first). You will see the strength of the signal.

At 1 foot = -75dBm; At 12 feet = -98dBm; I lost the signal at 20 feet from the router.
Note.. This was directly from my q10 unit to my router. No walls or any other obstruction

Whooooo, lower than -40dBm are of concern... lower than -70dBm are critical !
Did you have a lot of hot-spot in your area ? Can you have the signal strength with your other phone ? If the numbers are the same, a high-gain antenna may be a solution... and check for optimized settings on your AP.
Have you test your Q10 with another hot-spot ? (not at home)

I have switched back to my Bold 9900 and here are the readings from that one:
    1 foot -40dBm
    12 feet -48dBm
    20 feet -57dBm
On 2nd floor opposite end of house from router = -87dBm but still works OK.

-48dBm at 12 feet is still low. Up to 20 feet without a wall or lot of noise (another hot-spots, microwave and such), it's okay to stay on -40dBm.
But, well, the numbers speak for themselves. I can't get you advices on how change or check the connectivity of your Q10 wi-fi antenna. I let that part to another buddy on the forum

It may be disconnected. Have you opened it up yet?

I have opened it up as far as taken the battery out and the camera cover off but I don't know what I am looking at. Where is the wifi antenna anyway and how do I recognize it? I am a ham radio operator so I am not afraid to dig a bit If I have something to go by.

"Eureka" it is! Unfortunately doesn't help any. I stripped the phone down (see picture), cleaned all the contacts, reassembled and sill no wifi. I'm giving up on this unit. Will use my 9900 until the q20 comes out.
