The phone app keeps locking up on my phone so that I can't dial any numbers. Will wiping the phone fix this?

I take it you can unlock it and make/take calls, but the phone keeps locking itself afterwards, correct?
I think its a setting in the menu.
Try going into your settings for call behavior and you should find something like "lock on call end" or "Lock on......" something like that.

More info please: OS version, do you have to do a battery pull or just unlock it, are you in your car using bluetooth?

No, what I mean by locking up is that I can open the phone app, but there is no response when I press the dialpad or contacts on the screen. I have posted about this before. I have version 10.1.0.2011 Verizon U.S.

I forgot to mention that it will work again if I make a call from the call log or go into voice mail.

The security wipe isn't going to help. You can reload the software from within BB Link. Or extract the phone.bar file from a 10.1.0.xxxx and sideload it. Then reboot before testing it out.

Here are the two phone files. There's also a contact.bar file which I did not include because you stated that it was the phone app.

Have you tried loading the contact app?

Make sure that you do a back up first.

You can also update to the 10.1.0.4633 leak. Which is very stable

I've never sideloaded before. I checked out this link which has a tutorial: http://forums.crackberry.com/android...indows-825656/

Should I be using this tool?

Where do you get the phone app bar files?

Lastly, will these bar files overwrite the the existing phone app? I do not want to use BB Link because that program has caused me nothing but problems. Is there a way to copy or backup the existing phone app other than using BB Link in case something goes wrong?

I attached the phone files a couple of messages back.

Look at the stickies in the BB10 Leak forum. There are two easy to use sideloading tool.

Yes, they overwrite the ones on your phone. That's why you want to do a backup before and reboot after the install.

Thanks. What I also wanted to know is how you got these bar files so in case I want to do more sideloading in the future with other apps, I'll know where to go

You can download an os autoloader. Then by using sachesi, extract all of the files into a folder. Then you can sideload using one of the methods available.

Cranky, I used Sachesi to sideload those phone app files and now the touchscreen is not responsive and cannot access anything on the phone. I also did a backup through Sachesi but I cannot retrieve the backup. Now I'm stuck. Please help.

OK, using Sachesi, I did a search for my firmware, and re-downloaded the phone app files. But I didn't see any. bar files until I figured out that you have to rename the. rar extension to. bar, and then I installed them, and now it's working. Hopefully this eliminates the original problem
