So, I've read several times about it being said unofficially that the 30 day limit will be changed in 10.1. Well, the Q10 is supposed to ship with 10.1 and I was reading the crackberry leak for 10.1 features and don't see anything on there about the 30 day limit... Any new information regarding that? I think having a 30 day limit on emails is ridiculously stupid...

    1. A Blackberry exec (Clewley) tweeted that changes to the 30 day limit were coming with 10.1.

    2. As far as I'm concerned, until I am holding a handset from Blackberry and looking at an email from last year on it I will assume it is never ever actually coming. I was just reminded in another thread about the Playbook.
-Released without native email (hope the irony is not lost on you).
-One of the CEOs said it would be released in 60 days.
-Native email eventually arrived *300 days later*.

Edit: And it still has a 30 day email limit.

Yah, that's what I'm afraid of. I'm hoping for someone here who can get access to one early can immediately do an email test and wait more than 30 days and report back...

Just in case some are not aware, you can use the remote server search with in the email to get emails older than 30 days. I use it all the time, and it works perfectly.

To use it, just start searching for an email, at the bottom of the search results it the option for remote search. Select it and it will pull in all emails pertaining to your search that are in your outlook inboox....that are older than 30 days

Thanks, a work-around is nice, but for a Blackberry it really should be an option to keep your emails... I hope they actually change this on the device itself sometime soon...

10.1 Has a "Forever" option for mail, so yes there is an extension on the 30 days of email now.

It's on my work email account that uses exchange with active sync.

So yes it is on the current Z10.... I use that function on a daily basis and I typically don't imagine things

Oh, how much trouble would it have been to give 90 days as an option? Keeps the mailbox from overflowing but yet ensures I have full access to the current and previous month.

Any news on whether we can search entire IMAP mailboxes in 10.1? Searching entire mailboxes is really more important (to me) than just keeping cruft on the device.

I just tried this, but I didn't got any results.
Is this something to do with administration permission with active sync?

It is a bit odd that they wouldn't include a 60 and 90 day options, can't be that much more work.

No idea about IMAP, I just threw my work account (Active Sync) on it and haven't done much else.

Another thing I found was that the notifications have multiple options for vibrations (1 vibe, 2, 3, etc) but no short, medium, long options that they had on the previous OS, much to my annoyance. No custom profiles either on the load I have, again this may change but I wouldn't hold your breath this close to launch date.

That sucks about the profiles. I was really hoping they would have that sorted out. It seems they are half-assing some features. Why implement the amount of vibrations you can do, but not the length. Its like they are teasing us with how much we can customize.....reminds of another type of OS.......

I don't see any limit in the Text message area, but on my Z I still have messages from Jan/Feb even though I upgraded in early March. I don't know if they are sticking around because they were imported though.
