My wife and I currently have the Z10, and as said a gazillion times if the battery was better, it would be a better experience. More than that, after almost two years we both still miss the physical keyboard. Our contract with TMO is done in a few months, with the subsidized Z10's paid for as well. I don't have any issues with TMO (other than the BS with them and BlackBerry). Anyway, it seems we could get a pretty good deal buying a couple of TMO branded Q10 phones, stay off contract and have an inexpensive cell phone bill. So, the question for current Q10 owners, is this a phone you can be happy with for the foreseeable future?

    Under warranty only.

    Don't touch used, or refurbished.

Mine was great for six months, then double typing and a few hyper sensitive keys ruined the experience.

I am back on my Z for now. I will wait for the Classic to be a few months old, and see if they return to the level of quality I expect from BlackBerry.

U can buy Q10s for a great price off Ebay, unlocked too. I would pay extra for SquareTrade warranty if u have concerns. I have the Q10 now, came from the Z10 for over a year and a half, and love it. Something about this form factor just feels right and the keyboard is so nice to have back. I bought mine for $185 used and am ok with taking a chance on it. Gave the Z10 to my son. Both my kids have the Z10s.

I switched from a samsung note2 to the Q10 and love it. I missed the keyboard too. I have no regrets! It feels great in my hands. Texts, messages. Emails, and calls are awesome. The hub is brilliant. I think it's worth the investment.

OP what are your main uses for the phone?

Here is my BB10 phone experience

    - upgraded to Z10 (from 9900) as a personal/work phone.
    - Upgraded to Z30 for personal phone. (Z10 still work phone)
    - got Q10 for work phone (kept Z30 for personal)

I loved the Q10 as work-productivity phone. And decent for media, however I prefer all-touch screens for media and more options for games.

Q10 has many less app options for games but has most the same productivity apps available.

I have stuck with Q10 as work phone (until Passport) with no performance issues.

I had 3 Q10's! All developed the double type. I strongly advise getting a warranty for this BlackBerry as it is a hardware issue not software. I loved the phone but was offered a free upgrade and took the passport. Now I can never go back to a smaller screen

I'd consider the passport if it wasn't for that god awful shape. I just can't get past it lol when those first pics leaked I thought 'no way that hideous designs making it to production.' I unfortunately stand corrected

The Q10 can last a long time with its replaceable battery. And since the Classic will not be a significant internal upgrade, the Q10 will receive an upgrade for a long time.

The most important thing with BlackBerry phones is that they get faster with upgrades rather than getting slower with intentional planned obsolescence as in Android and Iphone.

For myself I'll be upgrading to the Classic. But, if the Classic wasn't coming, I'd be staying with the Q10.

We can find faults with all phones, none are perfect. But heck, we got us a physical keyboard.

I like the q10 because it's extremely efficient at the core reasons of having a blackberry phone... it's compact, easy to send emails/texts when on the go, and has great call quality. I do minimal browsing on my phone but on the occasion that I need to I use my tablet for everything else (ie:gaming, Web browsing, bill payments, etc).

Buy a new Q10 from BlackBerry. Skip on buying used on ebay. New ones are inexpensive enough as it is.

By buying new from BlackBerry, you can be assured of getting a model of recent manufacture that does not have the double typing issue.

I also had an issue with the lack of apps, however, I have seen how good some mobile sites are (USAA for example), so it has become a non issue.

Take the Q5. The low build quality and clickiclack Keyboard together with OS 10.3 is addicting.
    Lovely phone especially in red

I would say wait and see what the Classic brings to the table and the decide. I switched to the Q10 after about 8 months with the Z10 and I love it. I won't be upgrading to the Classic. But since we are so close to the Classic's release and you don't have the Q10 yet might as well wait and compare them both.

It depends on your budget and necessity. If you want a cheaper price n premium quality ten go for Q10. If you don't care about money n u like to try new tech, then maybe u can try out Passport or wait for Classic.

I am using Q10 and might change to Passport next year. Anyway let's Rock with BlackBerry.

I just picked up a Q10 last week (coming from iphone 5s). It is a fantastic device. The iphone is good on its own merit but I missed the keyboard and the core BB messaging experience. Previous BBs I had were the Storm, Tour, Bold 9930 and Z10. It's great to be back with Blackberry. I now have spotify, netflix, siriusxm and other great apps on the Q10. The Passport looks very intriguing and the Classic looks a bit retro... (perhaps why it's the classic). With BB10 os I don't see need for toolbelt - but others understandably really want that. Aesthetically the Q10 is best looker IMHO. Very happy with the Q10!!

Just because a used device didn't work for you, doesn't mean it couldn't work well for others.

The best tip I can give is to buy used, but only from reputable sellers. They'll sometimes take care of you well after your purchase date. This is my second Q10. I haven't had a single problem with it. I bought it on amazon for $227 including ship. USED. The Q10 is a great device. Sometimes I look for reasons to use this awesome, fluid keyboard.

If you don't want to buy used, stick with your current Z10's and wait for the classic OR go ahead, jump on ATT and grab a couple of Passports!

What has Mr.Chen to do with the Q10? I guess even the Passport was designed before he moved to Blackberry.

The Q5 has better keyboard, battery and display btw
