Ok I've loved my blackberry since day 1 but I started using headphones and it now randomly opens voice control and calls random people. I can't seem to turn it off and I honestly want to throw this **** out of a window. Any ideas?

Maybe you press the play/pause button for too long (the one in the middle of volum up/down). You can choose to stop voice control from opening this way by typing "voice control" in the main screen, choose the settings entry(the one with a purple microphone) and the turn off "open with the mute key".

Does this also happen when the headphones are unplugged? If not, then it sounds like the button is bad.

@ioansuhov I dont think thats the issue, though i dont have that option in my settings to turn it off (the rest of the options are there, just not open with mute key)

@cranky, nope. this might be illogical but if i twist and turn my headphones in its socket, it either opens music or voice. Its also not my headphones since i tested with others and got the same result

I have this bizarre issue with both my Z10 and Q10 whenever I plug an auxiliary cable into the headphone jack and connect them to a Harmon Kardon speaker I have. It's the only time it happens. It must have something to do with the speaker.

    Have same issue. Q10.
connecting/touching/moving/turning of headphone connector brings up voice control. It's coming up regardless of what you chose in the Voice control settings.
Headset is working (both mic and sound), I am guessing there is some hardware close to headphone socket that is responsible for voice control

Please!!!!!!!!!! how do I disable it? At this point it's just too annoying.
