Even though I'm a guy I read the instructions. It says I hit the pref icon when in the camera to get to the settings to turn off the flash. Well on my phone that pref icon is just decoration as far as I can tell. I've even tried it with a stylus in case my fingers are too fat. Is there a trick?

I have a Z10 and a Z30. SO sorry no Q. But in my camera app, you need to hit the overflow buttons (three dots one on top of another) and settings are there. Don't you see anything like that?

After taping the overflow, it's straight forward, just select the flash setting you want. Be aware that the flash is not available with all the shooting/scene mode.
