(I tried searching the forums but surprisingly found nothing on this.)
I bought a q10 off Amazon that was supposed to be the SQN100-5 variant but was sent the SQN100-1 instead. It works here in Boston and gets 4G LTE, but I am wondering if should return it. The SQN100-5 has the 1700 band in addition to 1900 & 2100. Thoughts?
Also, if I go overseas (Europe and Asia), will the SQN100-5 have broader coverage?
The only difference between the -1 and the -5 is that UMTS 1700 band, so the latter is no better for use in Europe.
In North America and specifically on TMO, I personally would get a -5, yes. UMTS 1700 is TMO's main 3G/HSPA+ band, so at least until they completely refarm that network to LTE--which won't be for a while--I would keep a -5 over -1.
Plus WiFi calling does not work on the -1. The only Q10 it works on is the -5. Not sure if that's a consideration here, but I thought I'd point it out.

Thanks. That's exactly the information I was looking to find.
