Scrolling through several threads I am noticing a consistency. Can we try and document this and see how many if you are having this issue? I am hearing a sticky space bar, no clicking space bar, no response..

I am beginning to think that it is a wide spread hardware issue.....

No issue like that on mine. What carrier are you with and where did you buy it?

I haven't purchased one yet, little hesitant. I am just reading it on several threads. I will get on the computer and maybe link a couple I saw.

I think it is too early to claim a hardware issue. It may turn into being one. A "physical" keyboard can have it drawbacks as it has moving parts.

I had a faulty space bar. Exchanged my unit and this space bar is perfect.

I have no issues with my unit, however I did notice the display model at the store had a space bar that did not click properly.

Noticed this problem in a few threads. Anyone knows more info about this? Does this happen to the devices of certain model/carrier/batch/factory?

No problems for me, and a faulty space key is something you can have your phone replaced for so this should really not stop you from buying the phone...

I have missed keyboard typing! Don't get me wrong the Z10 was great for a touch screen, but nothing beats actually being able to hammer on a BlackBerry keyboard.

I wouldn't say widespread issue. Just maybe a few isolated incidents. My entire keyboard works without any issues.

My Q10 has a bit of a dodgy space bar, although not quite as others have described here.

Mine creaks when pressed and the left side especially is very spongy and unsatisfying to use. My sister has a white Q10 and after meeting with her yesterday and being able to compare it was clear to both of us that my keys in general, and especially the space bar were inferior to her unit.

I'm going to see if I can return the phone to Phones4You in the hope they'll exchange it for me, no idea if they'll be willing to do that for me or not but have to try now I've felt how excellent the keyboard should be of my week old Q10.

Space bar ist ok, i button makes sometimes crackling noise. I unlocked my Q10 so I can not return it. But as soon the QWERTZ Keyboard will be available at the online store I usually buy the parts, it will be replaced in no time and a new shiny grey metal frame too

Sorry for my English, People from Switzerland are still different...

No issues here..yet. I remember with the 9900 after about 6 months people began developing a double .. problem, and my space bar fully stopped working after just over a year. Hope the build quality is much better with the Q10.

I just use the device sans thought, the keys are great. Never even think about how they click or feel, they all feel nice. All keys are responsive and work fine. They're all nicely cushioned.

Maybe this is because the space bar is such a big key compared to the other keys and so the point under the key probably has to be hit directly on. I notice mine is most clicky in the centre of the space bar.

I'm having a problem with mine which is how i got to this link.

my Q10 spacebar feels funny, and now after testing it since friday, the spacebar key sticks. And it also feels loose compared to the other ones.

My problem is that i bought the device straight from the place i work for for a very reasonable price who strictly said that there will be no refund or exchanges. So now i don't know who to contact.

I seem to be having a problem, not with the space bar but with the "F" key. It needs a bit more pressure than the others.

I have a squeaky and sticky spacebar. I have to check my mom's Q10 too, but I texted her and she said that hers is fine.

I'm going to exchange mine when I am off work, considering I just got this phone 2 hours ago. ALL the other keys are perfect. Though I do notice that the fret closest to the bottom, on the left side of the device, is at a weird angle. I don't think this has anything to do with the spacebar, because the fret isn't rubbing the spacebar or anything... just odd.

I'm not even loading my info onto my Q10 yet, since I know I'll be exchanging it. I hope not too many people are having this issue... for the price of the Q10, we deserve better.
