I had to put a sleave on my Sim card so it would fit in my Q10. In doing this I broke off the pieces in the Sim card slot holder and now it won't read my Sim card. Can this be fixed?

It can. If you're real good at soldering. Or if you can find a repair shop able to do it but it would probably cost more than the phone is worth. I'd suggest selling it for parts and buying another phone. That's why it's best not to use those adapters.

Not worth it. Used Q10s are too cheap. I had the same issue and moved up to a Passport. Try Ebay for used Q10s.
