Have a memory that I used with previous Blackberry Bold. Worked fine for first 2+ weeks - pictures from old device came over, new pictures were being saved (albeit in a new/different folder).

Q10 no longer recognizes the memory card. Thinks there are no picutures, even those taken with Q10. File Manager does not show Memory Card either - shows only device and Dropbox.

Crazy. Shut down and pulled memory card. Restarted. Still does not read.Says the 'Media Card isn't recognized'. I don't want to format since that will wipe all pictures (and music and videos etc).

    Help!

Can you back up all the photos/files to a laptop and then format it?

I will have to - I probably have a micro SD card adapter somewhere. My hope was to not take the time to save them elsewhere, format memory cardm and then re-import.

Pretty strange that only after weeks of use did the device decide to no longer recognize the card...

That is strange. What card are you using?

Hubby has said that there has been an issue with 32 G scandisk micro sd cards, it's possible you have one from this bad batch?

Only an 8 GB Sandisk, HC. Again, if Q10 did not recognize it off the bat that would frustrating but somewhat understandable. To have it recogized and store pictures/movies, only to find out that one day it is (seemingly) arbitrarily no longer recognized... that's a bad sign in my book.

That is part of the issue with those dodgy sd cards, works fine then not.

Even more bizarre behavior - I formatted the card on the Q10, and somehow the pictures (from the Q10 and some from previous BB) were restored.

Lol, magic... Or do you have box or dropbox automatically backing up your files? Maybe it just resynced after the format??

^^ yup my 32 GB worked for a little bit on my Q10 and now it doesn't read....doesn't read on my dads Z10 either....tried my dads 16GB one on my Q10 and it works fine. I'm about to go buy a new one tomorrow and get a 16gb...really wish the 32gb one worked fine so i can have more memory but whatever, 16gb will do...

Had an 8gb one in an old BlackBerry and it works fine in my Q10, where the 32gb wasn't, I guess there's a bad batch of 32gb sd cards

Yeah 64 is fine, only the 32gb ones had a bad batch....maybe I'll go but a 64 so I can put all my videos from my iphone on my BlackBerry and not worry about space. I remember when SD cards used to be so expensive now you can get a 64 for cheap!
