Yes, that seems to be an oversight. In the camera app, you can change the aspect-ratio so that the picture is either 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9. But there's no options like that in BBM.

Ugh, not cool. Hopefully something they've addressed in a pending update.

Hehe but the Axim is from 2002...if that makes you feel old, it makes me feel ancient lol.

Maybe I'll just toss all my portable electronics in a pile and take a snapshot for my avatar...

I think they will fix it. It could be a glitch with the Dev Alpha, but I think it's more likely just a software bug in this OS version. Someone said earlier that BB showed a video of it working properly between a Z10 and Q10, so maybe there's a bug in Q10 to Q10 BBM video.
