    Need your help

All keys are working fine except 'N' key

I need to really press hard to make it work

Kindly suggest if there is any workaround for this problem

How can I use $ key as 'N' key because I never use $ key

Is there any app to remap $ key to 'N' key

    Kindly help

Sounds like you need a new keyboard. They aren't hard to change really. Just take your time

Is it physically stuck ? Like, is it difficult to press, or like permanently down?

Forgive my typos, I don't look when I type

Try pressing it several times hard, like this: nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and see if it gets unblocked. It seems like a crumb or something is getting it stuck. It happens.

    This happened to me too.
For my case is the 'j'
It has been like 3weeks without any luck.
The key stuck sometimes and I have to keep pressing it until it start working again.
It feels like a mood swing for my q10.

I've never heard of any app that can do that but I do recommend using "Silent Keys " until you can get a new hardware keyboard. Good luck.

There is no app to change the mapping of the key

You can replace the keyboard and you won't have the issue.

    Temporarily you can try:

    System settings
    Language and input
    Prediction and Correction
    Word Substitution

Then press the plus sign on the bottom

put the $ in the first box and n in the 2nd

You could set a word substitution for nn to turn to $

Thanks for the tip but it won't help as nn is coming within a word but it is not a separate word.. for example if I want to type noon, it will come as something like nnoonn. this one cannot be auto corrected

    This makes no sense.

If you have the issue of the letter n being hard to press, you can assign the $ key to be the n.

So to type noon, you would type $oo$. I jut tried it, and it works. It doesn't put it nn, you tell it to put n anytime $ is pressed.

If you have the issue of the letter n double typing, you have to replace the keyboard.

So there you have it, 2 solutions to the problem you have, both work.

If the replacing n with $ isn't good enough for you, you'll have to replace the keyboard. End of story.

I already followed this suggestion. It cannot help me because it cannot replace whole word which I type

For example if I type a word '$oo$' , it cannot be replaced because word substitute will only work at word level. It cannot replace only '$' with 'N'

This gives me opportunity to explore apps which can replace (not substitute) one letter with other letter

Kindly let me know if you have any idea

    Hi All,

Really thanks for your prompt response

I think I'm confusing you by discussing about following two issues in same thread

    1. Cannot type 'N'
    2. Double typing

Please ignore 2nd issue. It doesn't bother me much.We will stick to 1st issue only

    Thanks again

    Hi,
Double typing has been told that it is caused by hardware issues of keybord. But recently,it is reported that the problem has been improved by updating to latest OS version. I can not verify, and do not know the exist of any auto correction. Your problem is different from this.
I think it better for you to order new keyboad and replace by yourself or ask dealer ,soon.
You can get new keyboard in ebay as cheap price ,and can get information about replacement of keyboad in Youtube.

It happened to me on the F key as well. I ordered a replacement keyboard on eBay. Now it is perfect. It is not difficult to change. Just take your time with the connectors. Good luck.

    Hi All,

Can you tell how to edit file system in Q10

I found a way to fix

    1. Install ES file explorer
    2. Navigate to System/usr/lkeylaout
    3. Here you can find .kl files where mapping is defined

Only thing we need to do is map a different key to default key

I have edited but I cannot save. If I can save this, I'm sure my issue is solved

    Kindly help
