I had a q10 and sold it when I bought a z30. Now that we have blackberry blend I want a q10 again and have been scouring ebay for a good deal on a new one, well I found a guy that has 5 brand new at&t brand , I'm trying to find out what model they are but the guy doesn't want to open one up because they being sold as new in a factory sealed box. Is there any thing on the box that would say if it is a sta100-5 because I don't want the sta100-1 as I've heard they have issues. And the seller has 100% positive feedback.

I think the 1 is what att has isn't it? Or is it a 3? I just bought a brand new Q10 off eBay from a seller called digicells or something like that. Hoping it'll be an ok device. I bought a new one off eBay a while back and returned it because of issues.

I just got an ATT Q10 SQN 100-1. Used but fine shape. Is there something about this model that's a problem? I thought it was the Z10 100-1 that was problematic.. Q10 also? Specifics?

There is no specific issue with the SQN100-1 (Q10). I guess the OP just get mixed up with the STA100-1 (Z10, and yes, a version with a peculiar hardware).

You mean STL100-1 (Z10). STA is Z30.

Well I got my new q10 Saturday and it's working good but something about this one seems different from the first one I had. The first thing I noticed was the black metal frame is flat black and I'm pretty sure my first q10 was more of of a gloss black and the keyboard feels a little different on this one. But other than that I'm loving it.

Nope... mines more flat/matte black and not a gloss... I've seen several bezels too so I know it's not just mine... the keyboard will change slightly... ibet you it will feel different in a month

I am using Q10 (100 - 3). It has double typing issue, keyboard light sometimes doesn't work and phone without fail switches off at 14 % battery level.

So as im looking to bid on a Q10 on ebay... the model i should not get is the one that ends in -3? (due to the keyboard problems and what not).. I've seen alot of -5's. What is the main difference?

You should get the model that will work In your location. Check this thread. There is no relevant statistics about a model with more issues in the Q10 family. All the same.
