All of a sudden today the volume for all alerts went very low and barely audible. After trying multiple things (including reboot and battery pull) I figured out a quick fix. Within Notifications, I slid the volume all the way down, back to main settings, back to Notifications and slid all the way back up. Alert volumes restored.

I used this suggestion. Unfortunately, I also bombed the phone with with a few other impulse reactions. One of these things brought back the calendar alert reminder, but I don't know which fix below or combination of fixes worked the magic? BTW, I was experiencing the loss of calendar alert reminders both audible and on-screen calendar reminders. I did these things one after the other:

- The volume down and up in notifications as suggested here
- Powered down (holding power button until it tells you Q10 is shutting down)
- Removed battery for 5 minutes then restarted
- Changed the reminder alert sound (which somehow changed from what I initially set) like this: choose a completely different alert sound which caused it to repeat the new sound I just chose. Then I closed reminders settings and re-opened it again. Then I changed the reminder alert sound back to the one I initially chose and it Q10 repeated it back to me.
- Tested calendar and it worked like before with the sound that somehow disappeared.

I've got this problem on my Z10. Usually happens after I switch back to Normal from Vibrate / Silent. This problem started after the last OS update.

Fix is to restart the phone.

Not happy. Hope the next OS Update fixes it.
