I've sold my Q10 (and an OG Passport) and bought a Z30. It's been weeks, but lately I've been ogling PKB devices, including the Bold 9930 and even the Android with PKB. Not that I complain using the Z30 --i love it, I love the fast and correct typing I could do with its VKB, but I had been using a PKB for well over a year before, it never occurred to me I would miss having and doing it again, even if it's just for the sake of variations.

I've never had a legacy device before.

Strictly typing, can anyone really tell me which keyboard is better, softer and easier: the Q10 or the Z30?

I use both that phone, I can tell z30 vkb keyboard more softer and easier but the other side I do so many typo at that LOL so I love Q10 PKB and form factor, easy to take (especially in weekend)

My mistake. I've just realized and have changed it accordingly, above. What I meant was the keyboard between the Q10 and the 9900/9930. Thank you.

In my opinion the 9900 compared to the Q10 as far as which is easier to type on? I would have to go with the Q10, if I pick up my 9900 it feels mushy and I really have to press on the keys to get them to register. However this could be because that keyboard was definitely used a lot by me and could "more warn in" but I feel the Q10 is very easy to type on as long as you don't have the double typing issue. If thats the case then just pop in a new keyboard and you're good to go!

I just got a q10 a few days ago. I've been an iphone user for 4+ years. My last BlackBerry was an 8810. I loved the physical keyboard.

So sad to see BB10 dying.

Yes, but like I said it's definitely warn in and if I were to use the 9900 as my daily driver again I would change the key board for a fresh one!

I honestly cannot remember what a new 9900 keyboard feels like, sorry. But I would say I love the Q10 keyboard, reminds me of my old 9000 nice and clicky

Yes, I know how dreamy the Q10's is, I had held it for over a year just two weeks ago. I'm still mighty curious about 9900, though. Guess there's only one way to find out. Heheh.

    Thanks yo...

There's a woman in my building who uses a 7350 with the thumb wheel.
That's cool, I'm still rocking my Bold 9900 -- if it's a BlackBerry it'll keep on delivering long after support for the OS has been dropped. With a bit of love your Q10 's will keep going as long as you want them to. If it does what you want -- enjoy!

I have both the 9900 and the Q10, and I wouldn't describe the Bold as mushy, sounds as though this is the result of wear.
They are both excellent keyboards to type on. Personally I prefer the 9900 but that's due to a combination of factors, trackpad, toolbelt etc. The Q10s keys are marginally larger than the Bold and the alignment is straight without the ergonomic smile of the 9900. Despite that the Q10 provides a great typing experience and the larger keys might be a better fit for some.

Thank you for the elaboration. Having tried and used a Q10 for a long time, before, I think I'm gonna get a 9930 this time. I can always buy a Q10 later.

Yay! I feel giddy thinking about it already.

I'm missing my Q10 so much. Thought it would last forever. Had it for four years but then dropped it hard about a month ago on the concrete and wasnt able to swipe the screen on anymore. I still got calls and texts that I could hear coming in so it was frustrating. And could still sync. Just couldn't get the screen. Thought about getting one off Amazon, but decided to give the Passport SE a try and I like it.

Still, am missing the little Q in my hand and that nice keyboard.

You could not have had the phone for 4 years when the Q10 was first released in May of 2013.

Ah! I remembered getting it for a special trip but must have gotten the year wrong. So I guess three years then. Feels longer, though!

Yep, that's the onset of the dreaded Double Typing syndrome. If the OS update doesn't cure that, ye have no choice but replace the keyboard.

Better fix that ASAP, because it will very likely spread.

Only typing? The 9900. No question. That said, the Q10 and the Classic are second and third.

I love this phone! I'll keep it and rebuild it from the logic board if I have to. It just feels good in the hands.
