    Because it's a physical keyboard.

    Click click the keyboard goes.

If you'd like to silence the physical keyboard, stick your fingers in your ears.

Thanks for your effort. The Q 10, however, doesn't provide the feedback volume slider.

Yeah, it's a physical keyboard. The sound it makes its a mechanical one. There is no way to make it louder or softer. Enjoy the sound!! It's awesome

Physical keyboard, yes. But I get absolutely no sound feedback when entering text into an email, yet receive (overly loud) beep feedback when entering a telephone number into Phone.

Oh well you didn't say that... the keypad tones for the phone is directly tied to your notification settings. If your phone is set normal, you'll here the beeps. If it's set to silent, you won't hear a thing. They get quieter or louder with your volume settings.

I initiated this thread. And thanks for your recommendations/comments. From these I've deduced the following method for silencing the keyboard feedback beeps I receive on my Q 10 when entering a phone number into Phone: Settings > Notifications > Active Profile > select Silent.

Addendum: However, the above procedure also results in the silencing of the ring-tones from incoming phone calls. Therefore, to silence keyboard feedback beeps but permit ring-tones to sound: Settings > Notifications > Active Profile > select Phone Calls Only.

    Wow you are not efficient.
    Try this:
Swipe down from any screen where you can see the time, you'll get the drop down menu
Click on the 'bell' icon next to the notification word. Don't click on the word, just click the bell
    Your phone is now silent

You know what's even more efficient? Before dialing a number hold down the "Q" key. The phone will toggle into silent. Then when you're done hold down "Q" again to toggle silent off.
