    Hi guys,
I left my 3 year old Q10 in the sun for 20 min or so, and when I picked it up again it had switched off. Phone won't turn on again.... ! Tried everything I can imagine (charger, battery out, powerbutton, both volume keys presses)

Any ideas/advice/experience from your side ?
    Love my Q10!

Give it some time. Otherwise, go for K1 or buy a new one for a price of few Big Macs.

Hopefully you've backed up recently. Next logical step after everything you've already tried would be an autoloader.

Phone appears completely dead... Tried different battery: nothing.
How's that possible from a bit of sun ?? Worked fine right before.
How can a autoloader work if phone doesn't switch on ?

It's possible your battery was moments away from frying anyway, and the extra heat sealed the deal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you see any lights at all when you keep holding down the power button?

    It seems a bit odd...

Conite's explanation seems possible but with the Q10's removable battery (of which you tried another) it seems unlikely.

I've seen a phone crap out from sun exposure but it was only the touchscreen that became unresponsive.

I guess one of the perks of being a BB10 die-hard is that the cost of a replacement device is cheaper than the original cost of a replacement battery. I don't like how 'disposable' modern technology has become but in cases like this one, it can be a saving grace. Used Q10s go for less than $50 on eBay these days.

I remember I had my Passport out on my sundeck in the direct sun last summer. It got extremely hot and started acting strange. Not long after that it developed the "emergency calls only disease".

So I guess it's possible extreme heat exposure can damage these things. Sorry for your misfortune but the good thing is you can get another Q10 for very cheap these days.

Nice, it was great and sad it's over, but time to move on now.
