Hi all, this is driving me mad, every time I make or receive a call the screen immediately goes black and will not respond to any gestures. the only way to 'wake' it is to press the top button.

I'm guessing this is something to do with the light sensor but cannot find a way to alter it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mine does not do this. Maybe your light sensor is malfunctioning?

Screen protector or any cover covering about 1cm left of the earpiece? That's where the proximity sensor is. If covered on calls (like holding the phone to your head) screen goes off.

I have a clear plastic screen protector, which I assumed would not stop any natural light from passing onto the photocell. I thought I'd confirmed this by shining a torch onto the cell to make the keypad dim.

However I've removed it and it has cured the problem.

That must be one very sensitive cell.

This is happening again, I now have no covers or protectors on the phone whatsoever. I'm guessing the handset is faulty
