Call me old-fashioned but I use my phone primary for calls and e-mail. I'm currently still using a Motorola Q9c (Yes - Q9c!), as the keyboard is fantastic and I couldn't get the Bold 9900 to sync my Exchange Server flags properly due to my IT infrastructure.

Anyhow, I'm absolutely dieing to upgrade to the Q10 on Verizon but I need to be able to talk for a good 3-4 hrs per day + Exchange Push + 9-12 hours total standby per day (preferably 12). I am able to achieve this on my Q9c with a Seidio extended battery (I believe it's 2100 mAh).

I have read numerous battery life threads but no one seems to have reported the Q10's battery life with several hours of calls each day, as everyone seems to use it more for multimedia than calls. So I was wondering if anyone had any feedback regarding the Q10's battery life with heavy call usage?

    Thanks for your help!

I get 2 hours of talk time daily without any problems. I also text quite a bit and respond to at least 20 -50 emails daily. 3-4 hrs should not be a problem.

Thanks for the info. The question is - will I get 3-4 hrs talk time + Exchange Push + phone on from 9-9 (12 hrs)? I figured I would get 3-4 hrs talk time but I'm concerned that it might drain the entire battery (meaning it wouldn't get through the entire day on top of the 3-4 hrs talk time).

Any thoughts from heavy calls users about whether that sounds feasible?

    Thanks for everyone's help,
    Jeremy

I get a lot more battery life on the Q compared to the 9900. I used 3 full batteries in a day on the 9900 and I am still on the same battery at the end of the day on the Q

The Q10 has quite a big battery. Since I don't have it just yet, I can't give real feedback other than the fact that if you need even more juice from the enormous 2100mAh battery, you can always buy the charging bundle/spare battery. I have that with my 9900 and it is a great investment.

I'm on 40 hours no charge. And I use my phone heavily. Full screen brightness, 4G, some music and video streaming. Lots of talk, text and bbming. Lots of twitter and facebook, and a little gamin lol

Thanks for everyone's feedback so far - I sincerely appreciate it. I have a bad feeling that I might be the only one around here who used my phone for calls for 3-4 hours for day, as everyone seems to use it more for multimedia (BBM, Twitter, Facebook, etc).

Anyone out there use the Q10 for 3-4 hours of calls per day who can tell me how long the phone will last with that amount of talk time?

    Thanks again for everyone's help,
    Jeremy

Calls arent so Bad for the battery. Q10s Talk-time is about 10-12hours on one charge.
If you only exchange and no Multimedia, youre able to get a full Day done.

But remember, use the Motorola the first days, since the Q10s battery will be bad.

While I haven't had a 3 or 4 hour phone call in one day, I've had a few 1 hour phone calls and the battery doesn't drain much from that. Thanks to the proximity sensor the screen turns off when the phone is to your ear which is better than legacy BBs (and finally up to speed with the competition!)

As others have said, the option of a spare battery is available - more that can be said for most other smart phones available

You may have to just wait until the Q10 is available on Verizon and either try it yourself or look for feedback from users. I don't think any of the Q10 in service now are CDMA and may not be a good comparison to the version Verizon ships.

I would suggest that the other uses of the phone where the screen and GPU are used heavily are probably much higher battery consumers than phone calls where the screen is typically off.

I use the zed for about that much talk time per day and it can withstand it. So i think the Q should do better

When the Q10 comes to vzw I'm sure the call quality + battery life should be stellar. They have the best signal out here. Rarely drops calls. So you should get really good phone call life.
