Hello everyone, my Q10 can't search remote email on server (BlackBerry hub), it only searches whatever on the device. I tried two roms and still giving the same answer. Anyone knows why? Thanks a million.

You need to be on a Microsoft Exchange , active sync (EAS) account to remote search email. I assume your IT admin also has to enable remote search on the mail server.

If you are on Gmail or a Gmail based corporate or school account, you need to set it up as a Microsoft Exchange account not IMAP. I think only paid Gmail accounts support this.

Of the free email accounts, Outlook.com is an Exhange account and supports searching on server.

    Hi, thanks for your help.
I tried the exchange mail method and it appears that the remote search stills doesn't work. My mail servers and Gmail account works on my iPhone but not on BlackBerry. This is very inconvenient when I switched from iPhone.

Anyone having Gmail account know how to search remote server on their BlackBerry? Thanks

If you were able to setup exchange on your Gmail account, you should be getting the search. My son has an education account which uses Gmail and his Z10 will remote search his school account. We had to delete the account and set it up to an Echange active sync account on the Z10 in order to get it to work. You do this in the mail setup by selecting the custom setup. If you need the directions for setting up a paid Gmail account, I can look for the link the school supplied.

Just to be clear, about a year ago Google disabled Exchange access to free Gmail accounts. If you have a free Gmail account, you need to either subscribe to a paid Google Apps account or switch to a free service that supports Exchange, EAS, one of which is Outlook.com.

If you only need to remote search occasionally, you may be able to log into your Gmail account through the web browser and use the web interface to search.
