    Hi,

Its been three weeks since iam using Q10 and im in love with it...(My Previous device was 9790 Bold)
Everything seems to be fine except for the fact that Camera option on the Home Screen just below on the left side is irritating me...Sometimes when i try to unlock the phone by swiping camera opens up....

I know this might sound stupid but is there any way that i can remove the camera from the Home Screen ...
    Please help

    Cheers !

I'm not a fan of it being there and on the lock screen either. Keep pressing it accidentally.

If your phone is locked why does it matter if you press the icon by accident? It won't open unless you hold it down for a full second or 2

I want to remove the camera and the phone buttons from my Z10. So I feel ya. My camera not to opens but starts shooting pics so I'm walking around with flashes going off and people staring.

Then making phone calls and people being on the line for god knows how long.

    Totally feel ya.

Yes, it is possible. Go to: Settings/Security and Privacy/Parental Controls. Set it to On.

Does that remove the icon from the homescreen / lock screen or does it just disable the camera?

I guess both of them are true.

Sometimes I hold many things and I clutch my phone in my hand at the same time. The palm of my hand is sometimes against the camera icon for an extended period of time which triggers the camera, unlocks my phone, and sometimes takes unwanted shots.

Well, there you have it. If you want to remove the camera icon from your homescreen / lock screen so that you don't accidentally launch the camera app, you have to completely disable the camera feature within the security settings.

That's not a valid solution. OP never said they wanted to completely disable the camera. Just get it off the home screen so it didn't activate when swiped.

When my screen is locked and I swipe up over the camera, nothing happens at all. Only unlocks if I swipe near the middle.

Parental control removal method works great, if you NEVER want to use the camera.

Major pita when you want to use it, as you will need to go to settings and enable the camera, just so you can open the camera.

The OP wants to remove the permanent (every screen) icon. Seems reasonable. Much more reasonable than having the icon locked, and unable to change or just remove it.

BB10 was two steps forward, but six steps back with the loss of customizations we used to have. Here we are, one year+ into BB10 and we're still asking to have basic customization returned.
Would be nice if BlackBerry would listen. But hey, we got giant emoticons for BBM -aint that just freeking awesome!

Absolutely the opposite of how I feel, but I do agree it was well worded with no swear words.

Why don't you want us to ha well the option of removing the phone and camera icon on the bottom? I make so many phone calls and take so many pics. It's just really annoying.

And what he said about it not being as customizable as 7.1 is true. It's a better OS but I'd sure like it if it had all the good features from the past. Hopefully in time it will have that. The sooner the better.

OP asked a question. Then was given a solution. Don't need to hurt each other.
