what is wrong with my device, i am using Q10 with 10.2.1.537 official OS from BB

there is nothing wrong with my device yesterday, just suddenly today i got notification that my device storage are full..
from 9 GB free to only less then 250mb free. and then i tried to restarted my BB, after the restart, i got another 9 GB free from my device storage. BUT, after that, PIM Service and System start working, making my battery hot, and drained..

PIM Service never stop until my storage free space reach around 250mb and then it's stop and the notification start again..-- if i restarted my BB, it happened like that again..

i tried to remove my email account, (6 email) 1 facebook account, Android application (1 account-pinterest), and PIM Service doesn't seems to stop working, just continues to drain my storage and battery...

any idea or advice what is wrong with my BB device?

Wow. That sounds like you did the correct thing to reboot and get all the memory back. But it keeps going? That's not good! What about re loading the OS? That might stop whatever is going on in there.

A lot of people are having similiar problems with PIM Services right now.

Do you have an Evernote account configured on the device?

How many contacts on the device and/or whatever cloud service you are syncing with?

I have evernote account, but I didn't log in or run it on the background

and I have about 6 account which were using cloud service or sync.. 1 facebook, 1 twitter, 1 yahoo, 3 Gmail account, and from 6 account that I have, one of them the Gmail account have calendar and contact sync.. besides the email

and right now, only 5 account that I log in besides the one with calendar and contact sync.

because if I log in to that account who has contact and calendar sync, they will eat my storage and battery, (PIM service run abnormal)
the contact that I have is around 800, and I. don't know about how many calendar schedule that need to be sync.

is the newer BB OS. than 10.2.1.537 is fixing this problem?? or any other solution besides re installing the OS?

The reason I asked about Evernote is someone had posted here that this was the cause of massive data usage on their device as well as very high PIM Services battery drain. Apparently something was not able to fully synchronize so it kept trying over and over to synchronize. This kind of thing could explain the storage utilization you are having.

Some people have had success removing all email/social media accounts and then re-adding them back to the device one-by-one.

Some people have had success disabling WiFi in the Android runtime so that Android apps could not access internet without permission.

Some people have had success re-installing the OS.

Just make sure you make a backup of important data before wiping or re-installing.

Make a BlackBerry Link full backup at minimum, and for your most critical data, I would suggest considering a 3rd-party app as an additional precaution. (In part because BlackBerry Link does not allow a partial restore. Sometimes all you need to restore is a small part, and the other things turn out to cause problems on the device. You can get 3rd-party apps to backup/restore contacts, emails, SMS and calendar.)

    Hey OP,

How big is your Gmail inbox? When you add your account it takes a while to do the first email sync up. That will initially drain your battery as well. As for storage, not sure if it's also related to your Gmail inbox size.

The PIM service has a major problem with large phonebooks.

I had precisely the same problem, storage was consumed completely, and the phone was so busy with PIM stuff I couldn't even make a call!

I instead linked my hotmail and gmail but DID NOT INCLUDE THE CONTACT LISTS, and I'm trying to find a sensible workaround...

Lemme know if you find something?

I have more than 2500 contacts in my Gmail account. If I sync contacts total number don't match with the phone contacts. I think new contacts don't sync.

    Using 10.2.1.2674 as of now.
