    My phone can reach temperatures as high as a 102 F or 38 C, is this normal? If not, any suggestions?

    It would be normal if you are playing a high intensity and high draphics game. Or if you are in an area with no wifi signal and your phone is searching for one.

    Other than that, you will need to wipe your phone and reload an OS as there is probably a rogue app or process going on that is making your battery hot and draining it.

    Don't play games, on wi-fi most of the time, swiped the phone twice, made no difference, only have one app to set to run In the background.
