Parrot CK3100 Car Kit - anyone got it working with a Q10?
Hi All
There have already been a few threads already re: Q10 and different types of compatible bluetooth car kits (I have contributed to at least two of them)
This thread is specifically about the Parrot CK3100
I am holding off on getting the Q10 until I am sure that it either
1) works with my existing Parrot CK3100 car kit, or,
2) works with another current model of car kit that offers at least the same functionality
Quite a few people have already commented that the Q10 now works (after the last Q10 OS upgrade) with the Parrot CK3000 Evolution (unfortunately, the CK3000 has very different software to the CK3100 so no comparison can be made)
The Parrot CK3100 is a very popular bluetooth car kit (they sell it on CrackBerry, or at least they used to) so I am hoping that at least some CB members have both a CK3100 and a Q10
Is there a Q10 owner out there who has used their Q10 with a Parrot CK3100? If so, please post on this thread and let us know if it works or not
If the CK3100 doesn't work with a Q10, does anybody have a later Parrot car-kit that is compatible with the Q10?
Thanks in advance
Alex
Good news and bad news re: Q10 & Parrot CK3100
Spoke to Carl again @ Parrot UK Support (yesterday: 26 July 2013)
This is what he told me....
He is not completely in the loop, as smartphone vs parrot product testing is NOT done in the UK
Bad news: He knows that Parrot are still having problems with the Z0/Q10 vs the majority of their product set
Good news: The software for making & receiving calls on the CK3100 is very similar to that on the CK3000 - so it is reasonable to assume that if it works fine on the CK3000 & Z10, then it should also work fine on the CK3100 & Z10
My assumption: If it works with the Z10, then it should work with the Q10??
Any idea folks?
Parrot CK3100 Car Kit works with a Q10
Hi All
I finally found somebody who has the Q10 and a Parrot CK3100 Car Kit and it works!
Therefore I've bitten the bullet and have now bought my own Q10 (just about to be replaced because of a faulty space bar.....grrr) and it synchronises the address book with the Parrot, calls from both the Parrot and the Q10, and the auto-answer works fine too
Problems that have been encountered.....
- With 4G turned on (EE-UK) there are more drop-offs when driving along the motorway - I assume this is an EE issue (but I'm not sure) - this is when moving from Cell Tower to Cell Tower. If the phone is set to '3G&2G only' there are far less drop-offs
- When I initially set up my Q10, as well as transferring over the contacts from my old Bold, I synchronised my Desktop Contacts, as well as LinkedIn, Twitter, Email Account contacts, etc - this made my Contacts List enormous - and it turned out to be way too many for the Parrot's memory to handle. Have now unlinked the Desktop Contacts, linked a lot of contacts (eg many people had 5 different entries), and pruned!. Now it all works fine!!
Now, if I can just get my gmail calendar to work.....
