    Hello guys,
I just bought Q10 few days ago and trying to adjust notification sounds.
Before I came to Q10, my daily phone was BB9900 and there was not issue to adjust sound/volume for each application.
With Q10, I added Gmail account but I cannot hear the sound when the letter arrives. I just can see notification icon on screen but no sound.
Same issue with Whatsapp. I have applied my own melody, and when message arrives I hear the native Whatsapp melody (not one I applied to).
Can you pls teach me how adjust notification (in Normal Profile).
    Thank you.

If you are on any version of 10.3.1, you can go to Notification settings -> Normal -> Customize app notifications.

If you are on 10.2.1 - nothing can be done.

My bad. Looks like there is no option to set a volume for specific app even in 10.3.1...

I don't think you can change the volume for individual notifications, but you can change the sound. Settings > notifications > applications

Contacts are in their own section under settings > notifications.

Then you can change phone settings, e-mails, and all your apps to different sounds when in the normal mode. Running 10.2.1.

    Thank you.
I think we are talking about different things.
My phone running 10.3.1 so, I can easily adjust sound, volume, led etc. for phone, email, text messages.
I am talking about system notifications. Is there any way to change it settings?

When you go to settings/notifications/profiles/ app adjustment. You can change every app like BBM, phone calls, sms,etc but there is no option to change the system notifications. At least so far as i know.

Can you give me an example of a system notification? Just trying to understand.

I get notifications in the hub from different apps like be weather, usa today, bbw, or ny times. But not a "system".

Anything with that bell icon. Like when an update is pushed to your phone for an app or the OS. That's the only notification you can't change the sound or LED for.

Wouldn't you change that here. An updated app notification would come from BlackBerry world or the app specifically. Both of which you can change.

Not all of the notifications in the Hub come from apps. I get some really obnoxious system notifications in the Hub like if my gmail password changed, I am alerted at about 7am with a really loud noise that I cant see how to change. Yes I can fix the password problem to eliminate the notification, but the point is, how can this sound be changed?

If you'd like a more thorough customization of all your accounts you could try Hub++, it's the only app I've used that comes close to what you could do on OS7

Is the sound the same as when you get Gmail emails? Or is it different?

Do you have level 1 alerts set up in your priority hub? Hub settings > priority hub. Scroll to bottom to see if you have any rules set up.

Also emergency alerts may or may not be able to be turned off based on your carrier and country. Hub settings> emergency alerts. You can't change that sound but you may be able to turn them off.

If none of that is true. Try deleting Gmail account, re-boot phone, add Gmail account.

Another work around is to use bedside mode to silence all alerts till your ready to hear them. You can set it up to receive phone calls only or silence everything.

    Hopefully something works.

The day is almost a third over at that time. Why is the notification an issue? ;-)
