I just put a SIM card into my Q10 for the first time today and it came up with an update message saying that version 10.1.0.2309 is available.

Current version I have is 10.1.0.238

Is this because I've just put a card in it or is because there's a new update?

I thought the updates came in via BlackBerry rather than by carrier?

    Vodafone UK if that helps?

The updates come in via carrier. At least they'll decide, when BB is allowed release an update for their network. The .2309 is the most recent "official" version for the Q10. However besides adding Whatsapp for the Hub, there isn't actually much new. Personally I'd rather go back to .238, since the newer version gives me some random application crashes, also the phone gets really hot while playing games.

Excellent - thanks! If I decide NOT to install this update and another one comes in later that doesn't overheat the 'phone - can I install the newer update without installing the older update first?

I've had this update available for a while and from seeing what people have said about it in the .2309 thread I'm keeping away.

No, you do not need to install any previous updates! Theoretically you can keep your stock version and, later this autumn, you could update directly to a 10.2 version once it's released. The device or your Link software does everything automatically, so you simply don't have to bother with any requirements.
