Just got back from the CB event here in NYC. OFF THE HOOK! thanks to the CB and mobile nations since I got to see Rene there too... The Q10 is a beauty. Sorry for not taking more pics, I was having a blast so I just happen to take a minute to hold the Q10.

It is the what we've seen via youtube videos and etc. Compared to my 9900 the Q10 is a bit wider and the obvious increase in screen height. The gestures on the build displayed worked flawlessly. I remember watching a video of the Q10 in which the peak gestures were hit and miss. Not anymore, they work great on the version shown at the CB event

Great news about the gestures Abrante! I think it is pretty sure as of now the gestures will work as intended and the early "hit and miss" issue has been solved.
What o you think about the display quality, any visible problems like blue tints or rasterization? What about the back of the device, how does that woven-glass feel like? Is it very smooth or somewhat textured and grippy?

Sorry for not responding sooner... I will try to answer all the questions above...

SDTRMG: None of the CB members had their own Q10. They did raffle 6 BB10 devices of which 5 people chose an IOU for the Q10. well wait, they gave 7. Remember that guy that did the Crackberry (BB10) tattoo? he was at the event with his wife so Kevin also gave her a IOU (The guy won one the time he got the tattoo). For those people that chose the Z10 Kevin was going to set up a day for them to pick it up from his hotel. The ones that chose the Q10, it is an IOU until their respective carrier releases it.

Taigatrommel: The display quality is great, remember they are using amoled. I couldn't tell the difference between the feel of the back of the 9900 and the Q10, though they are obviously different. They both feel great. The screen is not just vertically larger, it is also wider. The phone is a bit wider than the 9900 and the typing experience is also better.

I don't think it is lighting up and im thinking its because the light from whatever he is filming with is right on the sensor and it is sensing that its bright and therefore the backlight of the keyboard is not lighting up

It lights up. cap007 is right, I was shining the light almost directly on it and the sensor disables the lighting. If you look at 12-15 seconds into the video he turns the phone slightly to the right and the keyboard lights up until it comes in contact with direct light from my flash again. Rest assured the keys light up in similar fashion to all previous bb keyboards.

You welcome. Hopefully the rollout for the Q10 ends up being a bit more timely. The carriers here in the USA waited almost 2 months to release the Z10. After holding the Q10 I wanted the phone right then and there. lol

There are multiple reasons why they made the keyboard straight. Some off the top of my head include making the keyboard bigger that way and also because there is no trackpad, back, blackberry, or receive deny call buttons so they dont have to curve the keyboard around them.

Good reasons. I never held the P'9981 Blackberry so I disliked the idea of the keyboard being straight. Once I felt the Q10 I truly feel that the change was for the better!
