Hi, I'm curios to know if the problem I'm about to explain is limited to O2UK:

When I'm on a call I can not use data. I know this is not a Q10 device limitation, as my partner has a Q10 also (which is connected to 3UK).

    Any suggestion / opinion?

I don't think it's got anything to do with your carrier. I am on a Z10 and even I cannot access data when I am on a call. Actually I've never tried it but the data sign goes off. I think it's the same for all BlackBerry devices!

Edit : My bad. it does depend on your network.

Not sure if it's all BlackBerry devices, as my partner is on 3UK and she has full 4G data whilst on a call!

    Hmm..

I access data while on calls all the time. Must be a carrier/network technology thing.

Its a carrier limitation. Im on giffgaff who uses O2's network and they dont let me use data connection while im on a phone call either. While when im in Norway, my network provider there allows me to use data while on a call on my Q10.

    Hello All

I'm on Vodafone UK and sometimes I can use data when on 3G & 4G, but other times I can't. I assume it is a capacity or cell site issue?

    Regards

    Neil

It's 100% a carrier thing... this issue is not limited to only BlackBerry it's all smartphones on some carriers don't allow data and voice to travel at the same time.
Eg. Verizon in the US does the same with its subscribers

I have the same issue. I can't access anything that uses data while on a call and a couple minutes after.

Btw this never use to happen before.

I am on the Fido Network in Canada. It is extremely annoying.

Fido uses the Rogers network and they definitely allow for simultaneous voice/data. Something is up if it's not working.

Exactly my point! Especially because this didn't use to occur before. I feel as though this is something on BlackBerry's end.

Also, rarely if I pick up calls or dial someone they can't hear me. I have to hang up and try again.

It is a carrier/phone thing. In the US AT&T phones allow data on voice calls but Verizon doesn't. I believe it has to do with the cellular system used.

Verizon is my carrier, and i am lucky to ever get more than 1x signal at work. Its a carrier thing for sure.
No data. Tired of it, going back to Tmobile.

I have used all the BlackBerry 10 devices as mobile hotspots with my PS4, PSVITA for online gaming and my LTE signal briefly drops while an incoming or outgoing call initiates, then the data reconnects using HSDPA for the duration of the call, then back to LTE when the call is done. During this time, the online game pauses for a second and lags, obviously, but the data does remain throughout with just a hiccup really. I try not to use my phone because voice is so 2013.

Mind you, this is mostly been with my Z30 actually, which has the Paratek antenna, the others don't... so my results might be skewed.

I believe you are correct. I am on O2UK and I once was able to be on the phone whilst browsing the net / replying to BBM. Mind you though this was when I had my Bold 9900 (again though this is not phone dependent but rather a carrier restriction).

I guess that also goes to say how there was a time that data was not limited on most tariffs.

Verizon does allow data during a phone call, but you have to be in an LTE coverage area for it to work. There's been quite a few times that I've been on the phone with a customer while also using Maps, looking up a part number for them, or closing out a request online. If I'm in an area with just a 3G or 1x signal then I'm limited to voice only when on a call.
