I don't get how the black one has carbon weave and the white one will get rubberized backing?? That to me doesn't make sense! As a previous post said it would get real dirty quick with that rubberized backing
I may be wrong, but I don't think the white backing is rubberized.

ya, this phone can't get released soon enough. It's crazy how there's so many people that have their money ready and are just waiting for the day they can give it over for these devices. I'm a tech nerd no doubt about it, but I can't remember looking forward to a device as much as the black q10. can't. wait.

i think that white picture is just a 'textured' plastic, like the white Z10 - it's not likely the soft-touch 'rubber'.

I've been ready with my cash for the Q10 too... COME ON! I don't really understand why the delay... if it's "carrier testing" what DO they "test?" I mean, I can use an unlocked device that hasn't been tested on their network, so what gives?! And with older Blackberries, untested leaked OS/radios work better and get better RF performance than the carrier-released OS! "We have to figure out how to carrier lock this device." <-- probably.

I prefer the backing on the Z10 vs 'the weave' personally, but I'm still waiting for the Q10 to buy an Otterbox case and everything. I sometimes feel like I'm going to snap the Z10 in half when I put it in my pocket.

What is with the battery only being a 1800 mAh? It was stated by BB that it would be a 2100 mAh. Doesn't really affect me anyway seeing as how I have a Z10 but for most looking to get this phone that was a great surprise when it was revealed.
It looks like the one on the left, with the carbon back has a piece of foam on the battery as a spacer. In other words, the 2100mah will be thicker and shipped with the Q10. The one on the right is probably a prototype or developers phone, meant to use the the existing Z10 battery.

the op said the soft back was newer. The Z10 uses an LS1 battery. These are both NS1.

One thing you should know which is odd, the rubberized back one was ALOT bigger of a battery and was still 1800, it was actually hard to actually fit into the phone so who knows, also did not have the padding on the back.

Nope, you are right. If you look at the image that shows the back cover off, you will see different construction to the pieces. It's a tad smaller like you say.

Maybe the battery supplier is having production issues with a 2100 mAh version?

That's awesome! I think the other Q10 is actually the dev alpha C, or something else. Could be a different revision too.

Saw 1337group's video review of the Q10. Now I'm torn between Z10 and the Q10! I was so set on getting the Z10 when it becomes available in our country, but now I'm not so sure.

Does anyone have any idea how much of the Q10 will be?

Black likely comes first. In the case I get the Q10, THIS TIME, it'll be white.

Is it just me seeing things cause the one with a rubber plate looks to be about a couple millimeters smaller? Look at the disk and sim slot on both and on the front the over appearance. The rubber plate seems to be more along the 9790 dimensions....

The one on the right is going to be the official black colored device and the one on the left with carbon weave will be the white model when released.

A white model with a rubberized backplate would get dirty so fast. Similar to how the white Z10 doesn't have the same backplate as the black Z10.
Incorrect, the official device is going to have that carbon weave pattern, Thor covered that during the launch event back in January, the ones with a z10-style pattern are simply old hardware that predates the weave materials being available most likely.

Presumably this was a change they made during the project and if you look at the 1800 batteries, the one has that sponge on it which is probably meant to be there to stop the smaller battery moving about when it is in a device intended for a slightly thicker battery, which further confirms the fact that the weave pattern is from newer hardware too.
