So I did pick up the q10 and absolutely love it. Even talked my girlfriend who likes her giant note 2 to consider getting one. But I do have a question. Why doesn't my HTC one X charger work with this phone? Is it the wall plug or would it be the cord. Has anyone bought any extra cords or plugs (or both). Depending on which one is really the more important factor. Which should I get? And would a rechargeable battery pack thing that I can plug a usb cord in to charge this phone? For like camping and whatnot? I'd rather not fool with another battery. Because I would have other devies to charge.

Why don't you use the original cord and charger which comes with the phone?

Older chargers will either charge the device slower or not at all.. recommend using the stock charger or PB charger/rapid charger for the Q10.

You should use a charger with a minimum 800 mA (0.8 A) output, although outputs down to 0.5 A should work. Charging currents lower than 0.8 A will trigger a warning to use the original charger, but as long as the lightning icon fades in and out of the battery indicator, it is still charging.

The Q10 charger is 850mA it looks identical to chargers for 9790 9360 and other older phones but these chargers are rated lower think 750mA. It can be seen in v small writing on the charger. I would always use orig charger or one rated slightly higher. In the past I've Found using lower spec charger can overheat the charger. I stick a lable on my chargers now so I use the right one.

I know you talked about not having another battery for camping but have you considered the bundle thats made for the Q10?

Because I travel a lot and don't want to rely on having to remember to grab my charger. I'd rather have a couple extra for travel purposes.

Still looking for an answer on this. Is it specifically the cord or the wall plug that I need to check the power on? Or both?

The plug will have the info you need. I would get a charger with 1.5 amps since it will charge the phone much quicker over stock. I have a different chargers around the house and most are 1.2 amps or more.

It should not, it is the charger that makes the difference. But there are exceptions.
