I should approx. 2400 contacts but I have over 8000. I want to delete all contacts on Q10 without a total wipe of the BB. Need help...

First off, welcome to CrackBerry! Or at least congrats on your first post.

Are these "local" contacts, meaning just stored in your device address book, not synced from another account?

If so, from Hub or home screens, swipe down from top of screen and select Settings. Select Accounts.
In Accounts screen, tap 3 dots in bottom right corner to open overflow menu. Select Clear Local Contacts.

Any other contacts associated with other accounts can be removed by editing your accounts as well.

May I ask why you want to delete all your Contacts?

Yeah, I want to do the same thing - I can't sync with Outlook 2007 without adding multiple contacts - When I do a one-way sync in either direction, many (and I mean MANY) contacts are duplicated and not replaced. 2-way sync is worse. Any help appreciated. (then we'll get to Calender issues!) I have a Q10.

So you want to delete all your local Contacts so you only have your synced Outlook ones?

Did you read my post right above yours?

Yes I read yours, but more than 600 of my contact originate on Outlook and they keep duplicating. I guess I don't know what you mean by editing my accounts.

I have a Z30 and it has multiple copies of all contacts - I have checked Outlook and it is not the problem - I see the Skype contacts and that is fine but many of the outlook entries appear multiple times but not al of them - I just want to clear out all of the entries because some now seem to be mixed up with the wrong information and start fresh - I have deleted my BBLink account on both device and computer - I have used the cleared all contacts and I have turned off all accounts for contacts and still there are contacts - I cleared the calendar locally too but nothing happened until I deleted the BBLink.

I still have all of the bad contact entries that I need to remove - do I need to wipe the device?

Thanks for any help I need to use this phone by Monday!

Do you by chance have your outlook synced to hotmail on the web and have that email on your device?
