    Is there any way modifying the Hub to remove items such as Pin Messages?

    Not that I know, but you can send it to the bottom of the list, so it won't bother you that much

    You can have them not show in the hub.. from the hub / settings / hub management / pin messages and click on show in account only. Pin messages won't show up in the hub anymore, but will still show on the left as an account.
