Can't go wrong with JLC! I'm very biased, of course I put the SS band on it because I'm young enough that it works for formal and informal settings. I also haven't gotten into brown shoes yet.

Sadly, that's out of my league. Maybe one day, but the next watch will have to be for my wife or I'll be in the doghouse forever.

Anyone with a Gyrotourbillon needs to pair it with a Porsche Design Q10.

Seiko skx007 for your budget or if you want something more unique, a bernhardt sea-shark or a similar small company dive-style watch. Don't buy fashion brand watches at the mall. You just overpay for a ****ty 5 dollar quartz movement in a cheap case with a crappy mineral crystal face. Seiko's hardlex and durable automatic movement and solid case will last decades and says "function and toughness" while looking good in any environment.

Watches are a very private thing IMHO. The different sizes of watches available in the market today makes choosing a watch quite difficult unless you know what you want :-) Men's watches range from 38mm through to 55mm and larger. The watch dial, the bracelet, the movement all plays another integral role in watch buying.
Watches may look good on the net, in the store etc but they could look totally different on your wrist. My suggestion is that you go and try them on :-)

never saw a watch company that got so much worse than they used to be. also, they try to be more exclusive by pricing their crappy movements ridiculously high. +they kinda started looking toyish.

It might be a little low class for the Q10 but I have a casio g-shock blacked out military edition in black. It has the same matte finish. Simple yet rugged and elegant.
