This one is almost 5 feet in length (the one that's 1.5m.)

You could find more if you do a search for BlackBerry compatible microUSB cables on Amazon, eBay, etc.

Yea, that's my only gripe with the Q10. The cable supplied is a tad pathetic.

Any good electronics store. The message should actually say you "should use the charging cable that came with the phone" or something like that. The reason isn't the length of the cable, it the adaptor that comes with the phone. Previous BB phones use a 7.5amp (think it is 7.5) and the new Q10 (probably due to the larger battery and time it takes to charge) comes with an 8amp adaptor. The only difference is the time it takes to charge the phone. I plugged my new Q10 into the old BB charger that came with my Torch by my bed, and left it charge all night which is what my norm is, and in the moring it was completey charged as usual. If you want a quicker charge, its better to use the new adaptor.

I personally wouldn't. I actually don't think it would hurt it as most devices now days have fail safes built in to keep from frying the phone but just in case, I would always use the charger that came with the S3. That said, I have used my BB 750mA charger from my 9810 to charge my Kindle Fire HD and that worked fine. Your call but if you have the S3 charger I'd use it on the S3.

If you're just looking for a longer cable : USB Cables - Monoprice.com
^^ Only place I get cables from... Cheap and fantastic quality.

Of note, if using this primarily for charging get the larger wire gauge cables (24>28 in wire gauge if you're not familiar). Also the Z10 and Q10 take exactly the same micro USB connector.

Yes odd as it may seem the Q charge cable is much smaller than the one supplied with my Z10. No idea why.

Be careful, used a different cable and the battery indicator turned red and my phone bricked. Did a battery pull and lost everything in my hub. I do agree it's not the cable though, it's the power source. Used a different cable for BlackBerry Link and was fine, brick happened when I used the old car charger from my 9930

Wow! That is scary! I havent used my generic car charger from my 9810 yet but was planning on it. Can't imagine acar charger tbat wkrked well on your 9930 caused it as it would have fried your 9930 as well. I had that happen years ago on an old Moto Flip phone but it was due to a short in the adaptor and howvIbpushed it into the lighter in the car. Blew the fuse but not before blowing the phone. The generic charger made by Duracel works fine on my wife's iPhone 4S also. Humm-do I take the chance or not???? Thanks for the head's up!

I've been using a 10 foot long cable on my Z10 since launch. Every once in a while I get that message but my phone keeps charging and it's been fine.

I've been wondering why the cord was so short. I use the cord that came with my 9930 at work and the cord that was supplied with the Q10 when I'm at home and so far so good

As much as I dislike shopping on the Internet there are times when retailers just don't have what you are looking for. Monoprice is great. I think they have micro usb.

    Tylt.com

Also at least the cord isn't as short as the ones that come with the Apple devices. Now those are pathetic.

was checking the cables supplied in-box with z10 and q10, micro usb cable that came with z10 is 1.2 meters, while q10 came with 0.9 meters, both length written on the resealable packaging.

come on blackberry, we paid much more on retail pricing for the q10!!!

Any micro USB cable as long as it is both charging and Syncing (data) cable will work. The difference is in the adaptor. Old BB adaptors from 7.0 series (and maybe before) will work fine as long as it's at least 750mA rated.

Kinda of a dumb question but I've got micro usb data cables collected from all of the different phones used and some are thicker and some thinner does that matter, width of data cable!? But used of course with the plug included with q10!?

Use the thickest cable you've got, thicker is more likely to have heavy gauge wire inside and heavier gauge can carry more current further.

Using whatever cable should be just fine with the stock plug, no worries there.
