Is there a way that when I PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON MY PASSWORD KICKS IN?

I REMEMBER THIS ON THE LEGACY DEVICES..

I don't have a Q10 in front of me, but assuming this works the same way as it does on the Z10, if you press and hold the power button for a second, you should come to the power off countdown screen, if you then let go you should see 3 icons across the bottom of the screen.. the middle of which is the lock button. Tap to lock.

Actually (on 10.1) on the Q10, you only have the option to restart, continue to hold to power off (or wait 3 seconds), or cancel. No "Lock".

Figured you knew what you were talking about and meant 10.2.

I'm on ATT and I have a Mac--there's your answer. After doing leaks and what not (before i got a mac) with my Storm and Tour and 9930, I really have no desire to install the leak...after all, my phone's been fine up to now, and I'm sure ATT thinks the same--"why rush."

Been using the hold power button to lock my phone since day one. Double check to make sure your password is setup correctly.

You can also change your screen lock timeout settings under security and privacy

I wish there was an setting that when the just one click locked the phone straight to password. Holding down the button then using your other hand to press the lock is inconvenient. And when are they going to add the pattern locks as an option? Everyone loves the pattern lock.

Pattern lock on BB10 is slated for release at the same time as releasing BB10 for the Playbook.

If you have a password set, it will also show Lock, on 10.1 as well as 10.2.
