Keyboard lights don't work on my Q10 (same goes for proximity sensor, but that's less of an issue to me). BBVE indicates unavailable sensors. I've seen at least half dozen threads on this, but couldn't find a definite solution. No, hard reseting doesn't work. Updating OS (am on 10.2.1.3062)? No. I was hoping someone could show me instructions on how to unplug/plug the sensors from the motherboard.

This happened sort of suddenly more than 8 months ago. Keyboard lights sometimes went on and off, but have been off for at least 6 months now, which made me think it may be a faulty connectors to the motherboard.

Any solutions that don't involve sending my device to repairing?

If you wan to keep your warranty there is no other option then to bring it in. Otherwise it's an easy job to do it yourself.

Thanks Jeroen. I don't care about warranty. How do I do it myself?

They may sound silly. But I had a similar issue on a legacy device that I had caused by having screen protector that covered the sensor lol

I'm sure that isn't your issue, but just wanted to share.

    General disassembly instructions :

This is what the rear looks like (just the body without the motherboard):

The proximity and light sensor is this little fellow:

After you've removed it it will look like this.

Just pop in another and you should be good to go.

Other option is to switch your housing while your at it and make the black white hybrid like I did....
