I sent someone a text message this evening and the letter D shows where the tick normally is. I ahve sent this person texts before so dont know what that D means. Any ideas please?

Not on texts it doesn't show if its read just that its delivered and this is only if you have the same wireless carrier as the person your texting.

The BB10 phones come with delivery receipt option. See below.



Once switched on, see what happens. First was sent with it off, second it was on.

unlike when i go into phone app and get a specific setting when i go into text app i get the generic settings so what do i do now?

It normally costs you extra to have delivery and read receipt on. Depends on your carrier.

Go to text message screen
Press 3 dots bottom right
Press settings from menu
Press text messages from menu
Then the screen will appear to turn off confirm delivery

No don't swipe down. Go to your Hub. Press the three Dots (lower right corner). Press Settings. Your are now in Hub Management. Press Text Messages.

Lol glad you found the setting. You might need to speak to your carrier about if it costs and turning it off.
