    I have a legacy device backup file, and I need to extract from it some phone number, how can I do that? I have Q10

    The only way to do that is to load the backup file to your Q. Don't you have your contact information saved anywhere else? Like in a gmail or yahoo mail account of ContactsX? These would allow you to find the old contact information.
