are you talking about iMessage? i was not aware of this....the vast majority of my family operate on iPhones
This is a known issue when moving from an iPhone. I believe there are a few CB forum threads dedicated to this topic. Here's an Apple KB article about deactivating iMessage:

    iOS: Deactivating iMessage

Yes but use the autoloader to load the OS, then side load snap. Pretty easy process. If you need help, send me a PM

Yes. I'm using a Tmoblie Q10 on my At&t account. I first unlocked the phone, then used Sachesi to install 10.2 until my update arrived. Now that it's arrived (10.2.1.2228 now), the Q10 is a beast. Even battery life between the 2 but the Q10 is a lot easier to navigate/use with 1 hand.

I switch back forth between the Q10 and a Galaxy Note 3 depending on my mood. Right now the GN3 is getting used, but will go back to the Q10 for the next couple of weeks. When the Q10 is my DD, the GN3 is used as my tablet, note pad, calculator, etc....

I bet if a poll were taken Snap would win best source of Android apps.

I would agree with you about Snap. The nice thing about Amazon is you don't have to sideload it.

Always look for native on BBW first then go for Snap.

    Agree 100% here.

I only use 4 Android/iOS apps and they work flawlessly using Snap. This has been the "equalizer" for me.

Watch the demo. The gestures take a little time to learn.

Best case, Qmadix S series. Very hot, great fit.

Also, use the search button on the main screen. It works great.

Browser is OK, but I updated to Evo browser. Its better, only cost a few bucks . Worth it.

You will love typing on this thing, that's for sure. Since you've been around, you're only going to enjoy yourself. I always thought BB10 was fairly straight forward if not intuitive. The swipe gestures are unique and become fluid in a matter of minutes (like swiping up to switch and close apps in all of a nanosecond.)

Unless you're some kind of raging app-a-holic, you will probably be satisfied in the long haul. Oh, and cutting the iOS cord? I'm sure you'll have no problems with stuff like being able to plug in to your PC and drag and drop your stuff right here and now anywhere instead of routing everything you do thru iTunes

Remember to switch OFF your iMessage on your iOS device before you dispose of it. I would suggest you keep it around for a month just incase your iOS friends can't text you.

Also if you use iCloud contacts/calendar it'll be a rough migration. That goes for using a mac destop/laptop and Blackberry Link as well.

I actually had no issues at all syncing my icloud contacts and calendar to my Q10... email migration was fairly simple.... Gmail icloud and work were all migrated without a headache
